How to Create FSG Report in Oracle

FSG Report - FSG Stand for Financial Statement Generator. FSG is power tool of oracle which helps user to design their report basis on his requirement. FSG reports are easy to design and can be modify easily basis on requirements.

Steps to Create FSG Report
FSG Reports are easy to define. FSG Reports has 5 major components. Row Set and Column set are require field, rest of the component are optional.

Row Set
Column Set
Content Set
Row Order
Report Set

Row Set - Row Set is combination for Rows which is define as row headings in reports. Row Set are the horizontal view/output of the report. Rows in Row set can be used for Account Assignment as well as for calculation purpose.

Navigation >> General Ledger Super User >> Reports >> Define >> Row Set

Give the Row Set Name
Row Set Description is mandatory.
Save the Row set name by pressing CTRL+S.



Click on Define Row.
Give the Line No.
Give the Line Item. Line item is the row heading.





Row Set has various format option & Advance option. These option are used to enhance report formatting & Data availability. In this topic, I am not going to discuss these option.

Click on Account Assignment to give the range of Account. Below is the Account assignment window. IN Account assignment you can define Account Range as Low & High.





Column Set - Column set is combination of column, which is define as column header in the report. Column set are the vertical view/output of the report. Columns in the Column set can be used for Account Assignment as well as calculation.

Navigation >> General Ledger Super User >> Reports >> Define >> Column Set

Give the Column Set Name
Column Set Description is mandatory.
Save the Column set name by pressing CTRL+S.                         

















                                                                 

Click on Define Column button.
















                                                                 

Give the Position of the Column. Give sufficient position to accommodate row headings.
Give the Sequence No.

Click on Account Assignment to give the range of Account. Below is the Account assignment window. In Account assignment you can define Account Range as Low & High. Column Set assignment is used generally for Balancing Segment, Cost Center type of segment. Click on Calculation button. Calculation functionality provide the option to used arithmetic operator. This function can be use for addition, multiplication, subtraction and division.




Content Set - Content Set control the report and enhance the reporting view of the report.

Row Order  - Row Order organize the display of the report. Row order are majorally focus on order the various part of report.

Report Set - Report set can be used to group several report. This component gives the functionality to combined various report in one set. Using the report set multiple report can be submitted in one go.

Steps to define FSG Report -
Navigation >> General Ledger Super User >> Reports >> Define >> Report

Give the Report Name in Report
Give the Title of Report
Select the Row Set as define above under Row Set definition.
Select the Column Set as define above under Column Set definition
Save the Reports
